This week has been the coldest week of winter so far; as a die hard baseball and Yankee fan that's good because after Sunday there are only 18 days till pitchers and catcher report to Ft. Lauderdale.
After going to my first Yankee Game in the old Stadium on Bat Day in June of 1970, I really fell in love with the game. Unlike today, back in 1970 my team was not that good even though they won 93 games...that was only good for second.
As the Yankees say good by to the bigball park in the Bronx not only will we reflect on the past but look into this years team... a team with a big payroll, a lot of veteran players, a lot of youth, and a lot of questions marks. So get ready; it will be here before you know it. By my first game Bat Day 1970 I took home a Bill Robinson bat even though I wanted a Bobby Murcer.
