Maybe its time for a deal

After watching Joba Chamberlin, one of baseballs best set up men start and not make it out of the second inning maybe its time to turn somewhere else.

The team has been around the .500 mark for about two weeks and looks like they are going nowhere. One of the many problems has been the bullpen getting to Mariano. Joba was perfect in that role now he's gone and what the team has in house with the likes of Farnsworth, Hawkins and Ohendorf and others do not answer that call.

In other years the team has always jumped to make a trade and right now I feel they don't have a choice. My target is Brian Fuentes, the Colorado left hander who is having a good year with a 2.55 ERA and converting 8 out of 11 saves. I know he would not come cheap but look at it this way. They still are in the race for the wild card. Everything that they have in house won't get the job done. He is a left hander and maybe you jump at this guy before Boston or another team does.

Back in 2000 way before the trade deadline the Yanks got Dave Justice from Cleveland and that sparked the team to the title. Getting him or another bullpen arm would be the right thing to do right now.
